Pretty

So I woke up this morning and walked outside and literally sighed with pleasure. It was so cool and crisp. Now that is what I'm talking about!! Fall weather is here and I am loving it. Of all the things I miss about living up north in the state of Indiana (hey Hoosiers!!) besides my friends, it's the fall weather. And its absolutely gorgeous to boot! Florida may not have the colour palate of an Indiana fall, but we do have an amazing springtime (I'll make sure to put them up via photo next when I learn how to work this thing all the way).

Anyway, things are starting to come together here in the capital city for me. A new deck to be removed and built, someone to mow between the pines with a bush hog...these are the things that I love about this time of year.

I'm also thinking about the holidays. Fall is my favorite season, but Christmas is my fave holiday. However, as it gets closer to Thanksgiving my mind tend to drift to thoughts of my family. We are pretty scattered out, from Colorado to central Florida but we will all be together to celebrate the American holiday of gluttony. The sound of Last Train Home runs through my mind when I think about it.

I miss the fact that my sister Chris and I won't be going to the store the week before to get all of the food and necessary items we will need (the people at Sam's always ran away when we came in). I miss that I will not get to help my Grandma Scherer make her totally fabulous stuffing the night before and of course, although I hate touching anything that is raw and meat related I will miss cleaning and stuffing the turkey. We will be driving down from Tally that morning, so I won't be able to participate in those activities.

But the fact that we will be together that weekend, all going insane at the same time will more than suffice! LOL. And on top of that the day after officially means Christmas is upon us! Yea!!! I can't wait. However, I will have to, so I will be patient.

On that note, I will leave off...maybe for those of you who read this you will remember a certain Publix commercial which involves an Amtrack train and a turkey. And no, that is not a joke.

I love the holidays too! But I really miss being around everyone the most. (Although it does drive you crazy sometimes) I guess I better get on it and try and find some cheaper airline tickets...they aren't getting any cheaper. ;)
